How Mode Analytics works
Mode is a cloud-based web service that runs on top of Amazon Web Services. Mode’s services combine to become a versatile data analytics platform, but it’s up to you to input the right data in the right format in order for it to be useful.
Mode uses an installable application (“the bridge connector”) to coordinate communication between Mode and your databases. In order for the the bridge connector to work, it must be installed on a computer that has access to the database you wish to query. Accordingly, the bridge connector is typically installed on a desktop computer with VPN access or a server behind your corporate firewall.
Get more out of Mode Analytics with Segment
If you have a data warehouse with Segment, you can quickly and easily connect your Segment data to Mode in minutes. All of the data you have collected with Segment can be loaded into your warehouse, and thereby you have the potential to view and interact with all of your data within Mode. This includes data across all of your Segment sources: web, mobile, servers, and even other cloud sources. Enabling Mode with Segment does not require any administration beyond entering your account details to enable the connection, and no additional bridge connector software is required. Mode also offers pre-built dashboards that make use of the most common Segment Sources data (such as helpdesk and sales data).
