Segment makes it easy to send your data to AdWords Remarketing Lists (and lots of other destinations). Once you've tracked your data through our open source libraries we'll translate and route your data to AdWords Remarketing Lists in the format they understand. Learn more about how to use AdWords Remarketing Lists with Segment.
This destination lets you sync audiences created through Segment Personas into Google Adword’s Remarketing Lists as a User-List. Once you create an audience, Segment sends that list of users to Google and keeps it up to date as users enter and exit the audience specification.
This allows you to run advertising campaigns in Google without having to bug your data or engineering team for a csv of users. This doc explains how to authorize Google in Segment, how to create an audience, and what to expect in the Google Adwords UI.
Note: You must have Personas in your Segment plan to use this destination. Contact us for a demo if you’d like to try this out.
The Adwords Remarketing Lists destination consumes Personas Audiences, and does not receive data directly from Segment Sources. Any data that you can build into an audience in Personas can be sent to Adwords Remarketing Lists.

What Adwords platforms are supported?
This destination supports Search, Gmail, and Youtube ad campaigns. Adwords does not support Display campaigns through remarketing lists.
For user-property destinations, an identify call will be sent to the destination for each user being added and removed. The property name will be the snake_cased version of the audience name you provide with a true/false value. For example, when a user first completes an order in the last 30 days, we will send an identify call with the property
order_completed_last_30days: true, and when this user no longer satisfies we will set that value to
When the audience is first created an identify call is sent for every user in the audience. Subsequent syncs will only send updates for those users which were added or removed since the last sync.
Segment lets you change these destination settings via your Segment dashboard without having to touch any code.
