Learn more about how to use Quora Conversion Pixel with Segment.

Getting Started

When you toggle on the Quora Conversion Pixel in Segment, this is what happens:

  • Our CDN is updated within 5-10 minutes. Then our snippet will start asynchronously loading Quora Conversion Pixel’s tracking snippet onto your page. This means you should remove Quora Conversion Pixel’s snippet from your page.
  • The Quora Conversion Pixel will automatically start tracking visits and bound track events you’ve defined on your Segment.com Quora Conversion Pixel destination.

Here’s how you can get started with using the Quora Conversion Pixel!

1. Log into the Quora Ads Manager.

In order to access the Quora Conversion Pixel, you will need to have a Quora business account. If you don’t yet have one, sign up for one here.

2. Access the Conversion Pixel tab and select the pixel.

From the topbar, select the “Conversion Pixel” option. From there, select the “Install Pixel” button to view the Quora Conversion Pixel snippet for the account.

3. Find the Quora Conversion Pixel write key.

Once the tag has been found, scroll down to the code snippet provided by Quora. Grab the string of characters (no quotes) inside of the line of code shown above. In our example, we would copy 015c7f4e514b4b61b643e15c1f5dd82d - however, make sure to copy the specific string given by Quora - not the one in this example! Once we have the Quora Conversion Pixel write key, we can move onto the final step!

4. Activate the Quora Conversion Pixel destination in Segment.

Log into your Segment account, and go to the Destinations Catalog in the desired workspace and select the Quora Conversion Pixel destination (located at https://segment.com/<Your Workspace>/destinations/catalog/quora-conversion-pixel).

From there, select “Configure Quora Conversion Pixel” and select the desired source to activate it for, and select “Confirm Source.” The desired source will be loaded, and a sidebar will appear, asking for the Quora Conversion Pixel ID.

Select that option and put in the Quora Conversion Pixel Key that we collected earlier. Select “Save.” In addition, one can bind any number of Segment Track event names to Quora’s Generic event, as described below. Once ready, select “Activate Destination.” Our servers will build the latest CDN, and the Quora Conversion Pixel will then load on the sites that use that source’s Segment snippet!

Generic Track Events

Quora Conversion Pixel currently supports a single Generic Track event. This is expected to change in the near future. For now, you can map any number of event names to this Generic event to fire it.

Quora Conversion Pixel Key

Enter your Quora Conversion Pixel write key. It should be a series of letters and numbers, which you can find in your Install Pixel option in your Quora Ads Manager -> Conversion Pixel tab. It is the string of letters and numbers that is the second argument to qp('init', <This is your write key>)
