  • Drive systemic change that will enable us to build a more diverse community
  • Empower employees to be inclusive leaders and positive changemakers
  • Prioritize this work from the top-down by establishing accountability measures for our leadership team that will promote equity within the workplace.

Becoming an Antiracist Company

In 2020, Twilio committed to becoming an antiracist company and is now driving a DEI strategy that uses antiracism as a framework to address inequities that impact all communities. At Segment, we fully support this and are aligning our priorities and strategy to this approach.

Here are some of the ways antiracism shows up for all of Twilio, including Segment:

  • Safe Spaces program where team members can openly share perspectives with the intention of expanding their understanding and awareness on important topics
  • Inclusive leadership training for managers and leaders to better understand and support their teams
  • Fundraising campaigns to community organizations through Twilio’s WePledge program
  • Ethical Use Council that ensures our products are not misused and do not cause harm to any communities
  • Inclusion Rule which helps to ensure there is diverse representation in our interview process

Empowering our Communities

As part of Twilio, Segment employees are actively engaged in Twilio’s Employee Resource Groups, which foster inclusion and create empowering spaces for a diverse set of communities. Each group works closely with an Executive Sponsor and provides invaluable insight on community issues, needs and policies that will better serve the team.
