How Facebook App Events works

Facebook App Events are powered by Facebook SDKs that you’ll need to install in your apps. There is a separate SDK for iOS and for Android. Facebook also has a Javascript library for collecting events from your site code. The Facebook SDKs will need to be configured and functions will need to be added to your code that record the actions people take, as well as details about those actions. Facebook has a standard set of events that need to be installed for various industry verticals. Ecommerce event mappings allow you to create more targeted ads for people based on what they did in your app, even down to showing them ads about specific products based on what they’ve seen in-app. Each unique event will require custom code to be added to your app, and you will need to manually populate any dynamic data from your site database, like product sku, name, and price.
