How Chartio works
Chartio is a powerful and intuitive business intelligence platform, but it’s up to you to input the right data in the right format in order for it to be useful. Chartio provides two methods of connecting to your database: Direct Connect and Tunnel Connect. Direct Connect is the easiest method as it simply requires you to whitelist Chartio's IP address (`18.104.22.168`) and enter your connection details on the connection page. Most direct connections are straightforward, but some require extra connection steps. Refer to Chartio’s documentation for details for your setup.
If your database is on a private network and you do not wish to modify any firewall rules, you will need use an SSH tunnel to make an outbound encrypted request from your network to Chartio.
Get more out of Chartio with Segment
If you have a data warehouse with Segment, you can quickly and easily connect your Segment data to Chartio in a few minutes. All of the data you have collected with Segment can be loaded into your warehouse, and thereby you have the potential to view and interact with all of your data within Chartio. This includes data across all of your Segment sources: web, mobile, servers, and even other cloud sources. Enabling Chartio with Segment does not require any administration beyond entering your account details to enable the connection, and no additional software is required.
