How EPICA works
EPICA imports your data from any Segment Source for example, users’ actions/attributes on your website or app (purchases, clicks, page views, etc.) and uses historical events to predict the likelihood of a future event. Once you connect EPICA with Segment you will need to wait several weeks to collect enough data to execute a predictive model. You can also upload historical data to execute an initial training of the Machine Learning by sending historical data from a tag manager or data warehouse to EPICA (getting the data flowing is the most consuming part of the process due to the heterogeneous nature of multiple sources).
EPICA is capable of ingesting a wide range of data sources such as CRM data, warehouse data, user demographic data, online data like chat conversations, marketing engagement, and email to discover signals and make predictions.

When you use Segment to send data to EPICA you can avoid most of the initial event configuration process by just adding EPICA as a Destination. Segment provides standardized attributes and events which can be immediately processed by EPICA’s machine learning algorithms. No customization or additional engineering required.
Once EPICA is installed in your Segment account, your predictive customer data may also be sent to any digital channels like advertising platforms, email, chat, push, ad conversions, etc. At the same time, you still have full access to all integrations from the Segment catalog. Extra use cases are unleashed with EPICA, like the activation of predictive models on offline channels by pushing back predictive data to any offline tool via the same integration.
