ProductBird works by integrating with your current frontend through an SDK and embedding a widget (which is fully customisable to match your product's brand) to deliver micro-surveys and instigate conversations with your users, based on the data you provide through the widget initialisation. However, you will need to provide this user data from your own backend system, requiring your developers time. This can make it hard to be agile and slow down your product team, especially if there are new attributes you want to use to create surveys/questions for.

Using Segment with ProductBird greatly simplifies your installation, allowing you to pass any attribute you already collect onto ProductBird, greatly simplifying the time required to get up and running.
If you're new to ProductBird, getting setup with Segment means you don't need to hook up your backend data to the ProductBird widget and can simply leverage the existing Segment data you have. Instead of having to send all the users attributes to the ProductBird widget, with Segment installed, you only need to identify the user and all the data will automatically be pulled across for you.
If you already have the ProductBird widget installed, then Segment can easily be used along side the existing widget to complement the data sent.
