How Lantern works
Lantern automatically performs anomaly detection on all your product metrics and sends real-time alerts on Slack when something doesn’t look right. Using machine learning, Lantern is able to identify a precise profile for each metric (trends, seasonalities, variance, etc.) and detect when an abnormal variation occurs (level-change, spike/drop, trend-change). By knowing which metrics are affected by abnormal variations, you get full visibility over your product and user behavior.

Lantern has been specifically built to work with Segment and can be enabled in one minute using the “Enable With Segment” OAuth button on the Lantern website. All you need to do is pick your Segment source(s) and Lantern will start performing anomaly detection on all the metrics coming from them, no coding nor extra setup involved. Lantern monitors each ‘track’, ‘page’, ‘screen’ and ‘identify’ event to detect abnormal traffic patterns. It will alert you on Slack when it detects an anomaly, which means that all you need to do is sit back and focus on your roadmap ahead.
