How Modern Pricing works

Modern Pricing processes the IP address and user agent of each new visitor to your website, then predicts the maximum price level where each visitor is willing to buy. The prediction is returned as a score: low, middle, high, or ultra. You are then able to dynamically change the price of your products and services based on the visitor’s Modern Pricing score. The Modern Pricing HTTP API can be called directly from the server or their client-side JavaScript snippet, which is designed to make integration faster and easier.

Integrating Modern Pricing via Segment is the simplest way to obtain a score for each of your visitors and then pass it onwards to all of your integrations. You just send Pageview calls from your server to Segment with the context fields “ip” and “user_agent”, and Modern Pricing returns Identify calls with the “modern_pricing_score” custom trait for each visitor. Each of your Segment-connected tools will then be able to easily receive the Modern Pricing score for each visitor, enabling even more personalized experiences and detailed analysis of your various customer segments.
