Ramen

How Ramen works

Ramen is powered by a Javascript library. Implementing the library requires you to add a snippet to all pages where you want event tracking to occur. This implementation is enough to record page views and anonymous visitors to Ramen. However, if you want to use Ramen for logged in users and events, it’ll take some extra work from a developer. The main information Ramen asks for is a user ID, name, and email address, with optional group ID if your business groups multiple users into a single company or account. You can also record custom events about what people are doing on your site. All those variables will require custom coding on your site, and developer resources to boot.

Get more out of Ramen with Segment

When you use Segment’s integration instead of installing natively, all the data Ramen can accept is covered within your standard Segment implementation. When you enable the integration, all your Segment page views, events, user and group information start flowing through to Ramen. All special naming gets mapped automatically without your having to edit code or map things in settings. By using Segment you’ll skip the implementation and development time and start communicating with your users immediately.
