How Track JS works

TrackJS helps you catch JavaScript errors in your code by automatically collecting error data as it occurs. When you sign up with TrackJS, you will be given a custom JavaScript tag to implement. You will need to manually add the script tag to your site, taking care to place it correctly such that it is located before all other script tags. That script listens for errors and other events and sends actionable data back to your TrackJS account.

The Telemetry Timeline recreates the network, user, and application events that led up to each error.

Get more out of Track JS with Segment

If you are already using Segment, getting started with TrackJS becomes very simple and only requires you to enable it in your Segment settings. This is because your existing Segment implementation can collect the same information that TrackJS needs.

When you enable TrackJS in your Segment settings, Segment’s content delivery network is updated within 5-10 minutes. Once that happens, Segment will know to asynchronously load JavaScript from TrackJS onto your page whenever it is loaded. This means there is no need to install any TrackJS code in your web application. TrackJS will start automatically tracking data within your existing Segment implementation.
