As a cloud-based platform supported by a flexible, globally-dispersed team, we are able to continue supporting our customers with minimal disruption while transitioning to a remote workforce. Our internal tooling and business systems are comprised of industry-recognized cloud solutions that allow our team to effectively communicate and collaborate both inside and outside of our offices.

  • Segment, first and foremost, took steps to protect the safety of our employees and their families. As of March 5, 2020, we allowed all employees to work remotely in accordance with the increased pace of the spread of COVID-19.
  • For the safety of our customers, partners, and those in the interview process to work at Segment, we are moving all live meetings to occur over video. In tandem, we are restricting all business travel to and from San Francisco and any CDC level 2-3 locations, as well as discouraging personal travel.
  • Segment has also encouraged California state lawmakers to arrange free drive-thru and walk-up COVID-19 testing stations in every California county. See more here.

Right now, the Engineering teams are operating as normal, just remotely. As is normally the case, product development has a risk of not meeting deadlines in the normal course of business (scope changes, complexity, ability to get contact with customer/third parties.) This risk is increased if our counterparts in other organizations are unavailable due to their own business continuity plans. At this time no active development work is at risk due to COVID-19 or resulting quarantine behavior.

Segment has pro-actively mapped out the services and resources needed to keep the product running and to continue meeting our core SLAs. At this time, there is no additional risk with regard to our service or our ability to meet SLAs due to COVID-19. Our product and engineering teams remain focused on delivering a highly reliable customer data platform to all customers.
